About PENOCO, Inc.
We are located in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania, just outside of State College and University Park, in the heart of "Happy Valley". The area boasts high quality of life, rich in diversity and culture, featuring major events, attended by thousands, such as the Central Pennsylvania Festival of Arts, otherwise known as "Arts Fest", as well as the Central PA 4th Fest (July 4th fireworks display). Most would have to agree that "Happy Valley" is best known for it being the home of the Penn State Nittany Lions. In the fall, our rural city comes alive as a close-knit college town, offering an exciting nightlife and activities, ranging from the arts and theater, to of course, a variety of sporting events.
PENOCO was founded by Donald Peno and Timothy Sommer in April 1988. It's first home was located in the Cato Park business park, in State College. As the company grew, and took on more emloyees and jobs, the need for a larger office space became more of a priority. In 1996, the building, where we are currently at, was purchased. In late-2009, the office building went under major interior renovations, to accomodate our growing company. We would gladly welcome anyone that would like to stop by and take a look! We are very pleased with our new space!
Since PENOCO was first started, we have provided property inspections and environmental assessments for the planning and design front-end of building projects, followed by the removal and abatement actions needed before construction, or destruction, begins. We are fully insured and licensed to work in the states of Pennsylvania and Maryland. To date, PENOCO has performed over 6,000 jobs, ranging from small residential homes, to large scale facilities, such as hospitals and schools.
